Residual Risks and As-built Record Collation
By identifying and stipulating early in the construction process or ideally in the tender documents the requirements for the collation of the Health and Safety File (refer next tab), its format and form; this can be provide in the form of as-built information from both the Design Team and the Principal Contractor. The HSPC is to receive and then collate the as-built information into a completed Health and Safety File in readiness for the project handover and its occupation.
A review to capture any potential residual (post construction) risks of the finalised project design, the methods of construction engaged and any particular risks identified in its operational and use, and even consideration as to any future alteration, extension or even demolition tasks; can then be captured and noted in the Health and Safety File.
The Health and Safety File will supplement the Principal Contractors Operation and Maintenance Manual (O&M) as both documents are to be read and understood as one.
